A Bus Stand / A Bus Stop

A Bus Stand / A Bus Stop (একটি বাস টার্মিনাল)

A bus stand is a place where buses stop while plying up and down the streets or highways. It is a sort of temporary shelter for the passengers. Passengers have to wait for sometime for a bus. So, they come and wait for buses in a stand. Generally, there are a shed, a wall and a concrete bench attached to it. In some bus stands, there are counters for tickets where people stand in a queue for buying tickets. Sometimes, there is exchange of hot words if anybody breaks the line. There is a book-stall or arrangement for light refreshment there. Hawkers with snacks make a little business in a bus stand. Sometimes, seasonal fruits are sold in a bus stand. Passengers refresh themselves while waiting for a bus. But all bus stands do not have sheds. In such stands, people suffer much from the heat of the sun or rains. In Bangladesh, most of the bus stands do not have sheds. People suffer for the scorching heat of the sun or get wet by an untimely shower of rain while they wait for a bus. People have to wait for a long time to avail themselves of a bus as there are not enough buses to carry the passengers. As a result, the passengers have to wait even for hours in a stand. So, a bus stand should have a shed, a good arrangement for people to sit and have some refreshment.
