A Rickshaw-Puller

A Rickshaw-Puller (একজন রিকশা চালক)

A rickshaw-puller is a poor day-labourer who earns his livelihood by pulling a rickshaw. He carried passengers and goods from one place to another on payment. Very often, he drives the rickshaw of others. In Bangladesh, we see them very often in different cities. We find them in front of the madrasah, school, college, shopping-mall and park. A rickshaw-puller works from dawn to dusk and even to the later part of the night. He does not care about the condition of the weather. He has to pull his rickshaw despite foul weather. He is generally gentle by nature. Some rickshaw-pullers try to cheat the passengers. Sometimes, they demand high fare. A rickshaw-puller generally lives in a slum area. He has to live from hand to mouth as he earns too little to support his family. If he falls sick, he and his family members fall in distress. To support his family, he has to pull the rickshaw despite his sickness. In fact, his life is full of sufferings.
