A Village Doctor / My Idea of a Village Doctor
A village doctor is a physician who renders medical services to the villagers. He does not have higher knowledge and experience on medicine and treatment. He gathers some experience being the compounder of a physician or he takes up a paramedical course to practice medicine. Opening up a normal chamber and keeping an almirah with, necessary medicines, he treats the villagers. Putting on usual dress and keeping a hand bag with common medicines, he goes from one place to another to treat the villagers. Whenever any villager suffers from any disease, he is called. Then and there he goes to treat the villager. He renders his services from morning till late night. He tirelessly renders hisservice towards the villagers. It seems that he is at everybody's beck and call. As he is sincere to his service, his status in the society of a village is no less important. He keeps relationship with all the villagers equally. He behaves with them politely and gently. But as he is not very experienced in the practice of medicine, he sometimes unknowingly prescribes wrong medicine. As a result, the villagers have to suffer a lot. Yet, the necessity and importance of his services in the village is very great. Truly speaking, his services in treating the villagers are indispensable.
