How to Play Football
Football is a very popular game in our country. In almost every madrasah and school in villages there is a football team. The game has to be played between two teams, with eleven players on each side. There has to be an umpire with linesmen to conduct the game. It has to be played on an open field measuring 200 hundred yards long and 60 years broad. The goals have to be made up with two upright posts eight yards apart, with a cross bar eight feet from the ground, on either and of the play ground. One player of each party has to play as the goal keeper being placed between the two posts to defend the goal of his side. In part of each, goal keeper there have to be two 'backs, with three' half backs ahead of them. Five 'forwards' of each team have to stand face to face in a row across the ground. There has to be a control point in the middle of the ground in front of the forwards. To start the game the ball has to be kicked from this centre. A toss' has to held by the umpire to decide which team is to kick first. The umpire has to blow his whistle to start the game. While the game is on no player, except the goal keepers, shall touch the ball with his hand. The team which can successfully send the ball through the goal of the opponent scores a goal and the one which scores more goals than the opponent becomes the winner. This is how the game of football is played.
