A Street Hawker

A Street Hawker একজন পথ ফেরিওয়ালা

A street hawker is a familiar figure in big cities and towns. He is the vendor of a variety of things. He carries his things sometimes on head, sometimes in his hands and at some other times in a small hand-cart. He sells various items like toys, bangles, ribbons, clothings, sweets, fruits, utensils, newspapers, fancy goods and things of domestic use by bringing them upto people's doors. He is a clever fellow who knows his business. He brings one kind of goods for children, another kind for womenfolk and the other kind for men. He chooses things for children and women. So, he has to be very careful about what things to sell. In our big cities, we see them all the day. As he passes along the street, he makes a peculiar cry to draw the attention of his customers. The children here and there gather around him and stop him. The hawker generally chooses the time when the master of the family is away and the women are free from their household (f) chores. He hopes thereby to make a good bargain. A street hawker's income is not sufficient. He lives from hand to mouth and leads a simple life. He has to maintain his family through hardship.
